Instructions for authors
General Information
Abstract must be submitted either:

  1. Electronically, through this web-site (www.faops2004.org)

     Note: Electronic on-line submission through this web-site is preferred

  2. On paper and by mail: using the attached Abstract Submission Form below ( a copy on a diskette will also be required)

Deadline: 15th February 2004

  • All abstracts must be written in English
  • No abstract for free communication will be accepted by Email or Fax (invited speakers may send abstract by email)
  • Upon receipt, abstracts will be forwarded to the Scientific Committee for evaluation
  • A book of abstracts will be distributed at the Conference

Abstract preparation

Electronic submission through the web-site at http://www.faops2004.org is strongly encouraged.

To prepare and submit the abstract on paper, follow the instructions below:

Please arrange the text within the box as follows:
Use type size 10 (Arial or equivalent)
Limit your abstract 350 words approximately
Use single line spacing

Title: In the first 1 to 3 lines of the box enter the title in capitals.

Authors names:

Leave one blank line between 'title' and authors. For each author enter the full first name, the middle initials (if any) and the last name. Separate authors by commas. Follow each author's name by a consecutive superscript number for affiliation. If more than 9 authors use 'et al.' after the 9th name. Underline the author who will present the paper.

Affiliations:

In the line after the 'authors', enter the affiliation number in brackets followed by the corresponding affiliation. Include : name of unit/department/ section, name of institution/organisation/company, and name of city/state/country.


Main text:  

Leave on blank line between affiliations and main text. Include as appropriate, the following underlined headings : Background (including objectives), Methods, Results, Conclusions. Please avoid formatted tables and graphs.


Mailing Instructions

Please read instructions carefully before completing and sending original abstract form.

  1. Prepare original and two copies of the abstract form.

  2. Prepare a diskette with an electronic copy of the complete abstract form.

  • Include type of presentation preferred (tick relevant box) and for those <40 years old indicate intention to compete for 'Young Investigator's Award', by ticking in the box if so desired.

  • The spacing, type size, structure and contents of the diskette copy must be the same as the paper copy

  • Use any popular word processor (Microsoft Word preferred) in any popular operating system (Windows 95/98 preferred). If other systems are used, please make sure document is saved in RTF-format. Do not use Mackintosh.

  • Label clearly the diskette with the name of the presenting author, the first few words of the title, and the names and versions of the operating system and word processor used.

  1. Mail original form and 2 copies, plus the diskette before the 31st of December 2003 to:
